Maintaining a
Custom Fleet Vehicle

Custom Fleet maintained or managed vehicles need to be sent to Custom Fleet Authorised Service agents for any maintenance servicing, tyres, windscreens and/or batteries.

When booking your vehicle with the Authorised Service Agents please advise them that the vehicle is a “Custom Fleet Vehicle”, and they will call our Service Control Centre for authorisation before they begin any work on your vehicle.

Custom Fleet has hundreds of Authorised Repairers nationally. To locate your nearest Dealership, Repairer, Tyre Outlet, Windscreen or Battery provider you can use our Merchant Locator.

Servicing and Repairs

It is your responsibility to make sure that your Custom Fleet Vehicle is serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s handbook. For manufacturer required vehicle service you can take the vehicle to any franchised dealership.

Tyres

Inspect your tyres regularly for damage and ensure that the tyre pressures are correct. Even small differences in tyre pressure can affect performance, fuel efficiency and safety of your vehicle.

Should your vehicle need replacement tyres, they should be the same quality and size as those fitted at the time of delivery to ensure uniformity and performance benefits. Custom Fleet has negotiated special pricing on tyres with the following retailers:

  • Smith & Smith Autoglass 0800 11 63 63 option 3

Registration and Traffic Infringements

Registration

As a driver of a Custom Fleet vehicle it is your responsibility to ensure that the vehicle registration label is current. Under NO circumstances should you drive an unregistered vehicle as it is illegal and you may not be covered by insurance in the unfortunate event of an accident.

For vehicles where Custom Fleet arranges the re-registration, labels are forwarded to your company Fleet Administrator. When you receive it, please remove the old label and replace it with the new one as soon as you are able.

If you have not received your registration label two weeks before it expires, please contact your company’s Fleet Administrator or call us on 0800 11 63 63 option 4.

Traffic Infringements

Infringement notices will be sent directly to your company and will be forwarded on to you.

Please pay traffic infringements, parking tickets and toll fines promptly.

Warrant of Fitness and Road User Charges

Warrant of Fitness:

It is up to the driver to ensure that the Warrant of Fitness (WOF) is current. You will need to take the vehicle to a testing station for your new WOF prior to your current WOF expiring.

If your vehicle includes full maintenance, ensure the testing station is aware that your vehicle is a Custom Fleet vehicle as the WOF testing will be covered by your monthly lease rate.

Road User Charges:

If your vehicle is diesel fuelled it is mandatory to display a current Road User Charge (RUC) label in the front windscreen beside your current registration label.

These should be pre-purchased for the number of kilometres you will be travelling. Speak to your company's Fleet Administrator to find out how your company manages RUCs.
